The Refrigeration Technician will be responsible for installing, repairing and maintaining HVAC / Refrigeration systems and their components, as well as troubleshoot all associated.

Job Description

  • Know principles of refrigeration and saturation, as well as technical components such as motors, compressors, coils, refrigeration piping.
  • Refrigeration component troubleshooting, diagnosis; repair and rebuild of commercial refrigeration components.
  • Refrigeration license
  • Certified EPA Section 608 Type I, II, and III
  • Calibrate thermostats and ensure appropriate temperatures are maintained
  • Repair and rebuild complex commercial HVAC, troubleshooting and inspecting regularly
  • Keep all HVAC and mechanical rooms clean, orderly, and organized
  • Test pipe or tubing joints or connections for leaks, using pressure gauge or soap-and-water solution
  • Test electrical circuits or components associated with the refrigeration system to resolve necessary repairs
  • Connect systems to fuel and water supply lines, air ducts, and other components
  • Inspect and maintain customers’ HVAC systems
  • Repair or replace worn or defective parts
  • Determine HVAC systems’ energy use and make recommendations to improve efficiency
  • Connect heating or air conditioning equipment to fuel, water, or refrigerant source to form complete circuit
  • Comply with all applicable standards, codes, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work area
  • Travel to worksites
  • Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Job Requirements

  • You are at least 21 years of age or older
  • You need to have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Ability to pass a drug test and physical
  • You have a GED or High School diploma
  • You have 5+ years of experience as an HVAC Service Technician or Refrigeration Service Technician with a Journeyman Refrigeration License (EPA 608 Type I, II, and III)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schematics and procedure manuals
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers one-on-one
  • U.S. Citizenship

Working Conditions

  • Some work days may require odd hours and emergency repairs
  • Work nights and weekends (with additional compensation)
  • Ability to climb ladders to roofs and work in small spaces
