ESTIMATOR / SCHEDULER multi-discipline

This Estimator will be responsible for the successful bidding and estimating of renovation and new construction proposals. Responsibilities include subcontractor  procurement,    material takeoffs and cost estimating, proposal preparation, and schedule development.

 Job Description:

  • Review Drawings, Specifications, Contract Documents and Addenda to determine and track project scope.
  • Estimate labor and materials requirements from take-offs
  • Responsible for project planning, critical path scheduling and anticipating in-process timelines which are designed to meet the overall project schedule
  • Create project schedules, Gantt charts, Excel spreadsheets or other appropriate tools to monitor and manage project timelines and all elements of project cost.
  • Communicate effectively with project participants (Contractors, Architects, and Engineers), as well as with company Project Managers, Engineering, Planning, and Operational leadership.
  • Develop and submit project schedules, equipment submittals and shop drawings to help determine job duration and cost
  • Develop and submits overall proposal that includes all pricing, conditions, clarifications, inclusions and exclusions
  • Follow through on all proposals to final decision
  • Coordination with existing clients to ensure quality relationships are being maintained on existing jobs and to develop future contract potentials

 Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5-7 years Estimator experience in multi-discipline projects
  • Experienced in mechanical, plumbing and general construction estimating in both private and federal contracts/RFPs.
  • A clear understanding of and ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to estimate multiple disciplines typical of general construction, including but not limited to mechanical and electrical.
  • Requires verbal communication to engage and follow up with subcontractors and vendor on proposals to determine status, respond to questions, and assist in final negotiations.
  • Knowledge and use of estimating guides, such as RS Means, etc.
  • Ability to spot vendor and subcontractor exclusions or overlaps in proposals
  • Ability to write technical narrative portions of proposals to include technical approach, means and methods and scheduling.
  • Assembly of proposal packages with all appropriate documents, and coordination with internal and external project teams.
  • Experience with Primavera, P3, MS Project, or other scheduling software.
  • Computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and scheduling skills
  • You need to have a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
